Aspen Ski Company is taking a positive step towards community progression. The company announced their introduction of a new Employee Volunteer Program effective as of January 1, 2012 to get employees involved with shaping their community.
So you think you've got what it takes to tare it up on the holy grail, Winter X Games terrain? Well, here's your chance. Back for its 7th year, the Aspen/Snowmass Open invites men and women skiers and riders to Buttermilk Mountain to show their stuff on the Winter X Games slopestyle course and the monster 22-foot superpipe before the terrain is open to the public. The competition, boasting handsome cash prizes will run from February 23 - 26, 2012, so get up and get registered now for your chance to compete.
BIG news my fellow funk seeking, bluegrass basking, all around music devotees. The perpetually pleasing, Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series has announced the lineup for the remaining dates, including the annual CORE Party concert in downtown Aspen, and these bands are sure to get you grooving. Aspen/Snowmass is set to bring in heavy hitting acts - the likes of The Motet, Railroad Earth and The Wailers to play the ever impressing and always FREE concert series' remaining dates.
The nonstop nature of the holiday hustle and bustle is finally winding down. If your season has been anything like mine, you've reached the tell tale breaking point. I'm not quite sure whether it's time to go into a week of hibernation to recover, or roll with the party momentum and push on till the day, so to say. Sticking to my tried and true mantra, "buy the ticket, take the ride" I'll put on my game face, and head over to the Belly Up Aspen to catch electronic DJ magic as A-Trak and Ecto Cooler take the stage.
The 2011/2012 season is well on its way at Aspen/Snowmass, and there are very few things in this world that get me more excited than shredding my favorite mountains. What could possibly top my list you ask? How about shredding my favorite mountains while being a part of the 2012 ESPN X Games frenzy and rocking out to free music? That's right, it's that time of year again. The Winter X Games are soon to be upon us, and this year the Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series is bringing in AWOLNATION to perform at the base of Aspen Mountain Saturday, January 28th at 5:30pm, for FREE!
Colorado has stolen my heart for so many reasons; the champagne powder, bluebird sunny days, rip-roaring rafting and its denizens' devotion to supporting sensational music. It's hard to pick the number one attraction, but I will say, there's something undeniably fulfilling about a soul wrenching musical performance. During the summer months, Colorado flourishes with some of the country's most impressive outdoor music venues including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, State Bridge, Telluride's Town Park and so many more. Our winter snow globe landscape however, usually limits us to indoor venues, until last year's introduction of SnowBall Music Festival.
