The 2009 Winter X-games were a huge success for the city of Aspen, the Roaring Fork Valley, and the state of rippers everywhere! There was, however, a record low attendance for Winter X here in Aspen, The lowest in five years. Some say it’s because of the economy, some say it was the rain, but for this fan it made for a perfect crowd and a spectacular event.
The Hotel Jerome has a storied past in Aspen’s history, starting from its opening on Thanksgiving Eve in 1889. Built by Macy’s Department Store magnate Jerome B. Wheeler during the town’s silver mining boom, the Hotel Jerome put Aspen on the map of leisure and luxury destinations in North America.
With a mere 673 skiable acres, Aspen Mountain (or Ajax, as the locals call it) seems like it should be a small mountain, but don’t let that number fool you. Ajax is one of the biggest little ski areas in the world, and if you’re a good skier, it offers all the challenge and varied terrain you could want, provided you know where you want to go and how to get there.
We envision a website that has broad appeal, from local residents to international tourists and everyone in between.
Our vision: to gather "everything Aspen" all in one place:
* Which school offers the best opportunities for my children?
* Who do I call to turn on my utilities?
* Which resort has the best access to the slopes?
