BIG news my fellow funk seeking, bluegrass basking, all around music devotees. The perpetually pleasing, Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series has announced the lineup for the remaining dates, including the annual CORE Party concert in downtown Aspen, and these bands are sure to get you grooving. Aspen/Snowmass is set to bring in heavy hitting acts - the likes of The Motet, Railroad Earth and The Wailers to play the ever impressing and always FREE concert series' remaining dates.
If you know these bands, you're probably glowing with excitement right along side me. If you're yet to be a part of one of their shows, take advantage of this opportunity to get down to some of today's greatest bands while taking in the Aspen experience. The remaining Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert series dates are:
* Motet – Sunday, February 19 at Snowmass Base Village
* Railroad Earth – Friday, March 16 in Downtown Aspen
* The Wailers – Sunday, March 18 at Snowmass Base Village
Based out of Boulder Colorado, The Motet is always a priority ticket for me. This six-piece jam band consistently brings the noise, and I'm expected nothing short for their Aspen appearance. The show kicks off at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 19 and will be a sure fire dance party as the band mixes funk, jazz, folk and world music sounds.
Bluegrass big name, Railroad Earth is set to play downtown Aspen at the corner of Cooper Avenue and Galena Street to start the Spring Jam CORE Party 8 p.m. on Friday, March 16. Railroad Earth is a must see staple in the scene. Their sound is a finely tuned blend of traditional bluegrass and folk, with undertones of celtic, jazz and rock. Check out the following video from their show in Philadelphia, PA
Needing no introduction, the legendary reggae sounds of The Wailers will resonate from the the Snowmass Base Village at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 18. The Wailers will play classic hits from Bob Marley & The Wailers.
The Railroad Earth and Wailers concerts fall in conjunction with the 12th Annual Bud Light Spring Jam, which is a premier spring kick-off festival taking place March 16-18 and March 23-25 in Aspen/Snowmass. The Spring Jam docket includes two power-packed weekends of ski and ride competitions, downtown concerts and exclusive parties. The hoopla will commence with the CORE Party on Friday night and rolls right into the 13th annual KickAspen Big Air competitions at Aspen Mountain on Saturday. If you've ever dreamed of hitting the park, but needed some guidance, now's your chance. Check out the Terrain Park Boot Camp providing instruction in a mini-park at Snowmass. Also on Spring Jam's lineup, check out the 4th annual Fallen Friends Memorial Event, and the 5th annual Helly Hansen Battle in the Bowls.
