The Belly Up Aspen brings the heat during these frosty winter months by inviting jam genre veterans, moe. to the stage for a guaranteed rockin' good time. This Thursday, February 9th, the five piece band with over 20 years experience, will take the stage at 9:00 pm, and give Aspen a proper dose of jam.
I've had the pleasure of a long standing relationship with moe.'s music and concert experiences. I attended my first moe. show as a freshman in high school, 10 years ago, and consider it a pivotal moment in my musical development. The bar was set, and set high. Moe. instilled the rigorous standards I've held bands to throughout my musical appreciation progression; two full sets, a genuine connection to their audience and a full circle encore to bring it all back home. My friends and I will continue to stay loyal to these guys as long as their willing to continue putting out great records and putting on great shows. Looking at their track record of over 20 studio releases, I'd say they're determined to keep up the pace.
I had the pleasure of catching a few sets over the past couple days in San Francisco. The first, a six song set at Amoeba Records in the Haight to promote their new album release, as well as the second night of their two-night run at San Francisco's renowned Independent. The Independent show really brought me back. As I looked around at the crowd, I felt such a strong connection. I've grown up with these people. We're all here to share something so near and dear to our hearts. I think part of what makes moe. the caliber band they are, aside from their obvious astounding talent and dedication to the music, is that, well, moe. cares! When you're at one of their shows, that shared musical moment transcends the viewer performer norm to a participatory experience that brings everyone together.
Don't miss the chance to catch these jam band pros in the amazingly intimate venue, the Belly Up Aspen. For tickets and more information, visit http://www.bellyupaspen.com/show/detail/52486 .
