The Environment Foundation Accepting Grant Applications

Aspen, CO- Calling all environmental activists in the Roaring Fork Valley. In the past 14 years, the Environment Foundation has allocated over 1.7 million dollars to hundreds of projects supporting the Roaring Fork Valley's preservation and restoration. This unique non-profit organization, is now accepting grant applications for projects in need of funding until October 14th at 4:30pm. If you've got a the proactive plan, and need the financial backing, get up and get moving.


The Environment Foundation works together with Aspen Community Foundation and the Aspen Skiing Company Family Fund, to actively make a difference in the Roaring Fork Valley's community, and the environment. The non-profit leads through promotion of education as well as research. Some of the important issues projects supported by the Environment Foundation tackle include, the impacts of climate change, safeguarding the mountain ecosystems and involving the community in educational and recreational opportunities that foster a sense of responsibility for the environment they live in and love.

If you think your cause deserves funding, and is consistant with the Environment Foundation's mission, check out the following information for eligibility and details. In order to receive funding, beneficiary may be private or nonprofit, government agencies or individuals. This open forum allows for an even playing field for all forward thinking ideas. The grant money will be allocated based on the board of directors' decision. All projects should keep in mind that the the maximum grant funding for any one project will not exceed $15,000, and on average, recipients receive about $8,000.
